Comedy is very subjective and all a matter of personal taste. Personally, I cannot stand McIntyre for many of the reasons previously outlined.
Someone who stands out to me among many others at the moment is James Acaster. Didn't know much about him until I watched his Netflix specials. I found him very unique and very, very funny. He has a certain old-fashioned stand-up style about him. What irks me though is that he is another one who appears regularly on TV panel shows, something that usually turns me off a comedian. But as rochersterjohn pointed out earlier, if that financial carrot is being dangled in front of you what you gonna do?
